Helium gas
However, due to its inertness, helium is capable of „nestling up“ to the balloon‘s wall. That is why balloons filled with helium can not fly for ever. Special foil, which foil balloons are made of, suits best to restrain helium gas. Foil balloons, filled with helium gas, can fly from 2 weeks to a month, depending on the atmosphere pressure.
Small rubber (latex) balloons retain helium gas for relatively short period of time, for example, 9” (23cm.) balloon flies from 6 to 12 hours, 11”(28cm.) from 12 to 24h. So, that balloons with helium fly longer, they can be processed with special supplement „Hi-Float“.
Important! Inhalating helium gas is dangerous. Helium gas drives oxygen out of blood. This can result in faint, which is dangerous by it self, and may even end in death (There are death cases caused by inhalation of helium stated in USA). Do not inhale helium, do not play with death.
